It’s that time of the year when pro surfers pick a calculator and start dreaming of entering or continuing in World Surf League’s Championship Tour (CT).

The Dream Tour is a restricted club, with only room for 34 prolific wave riders. It’s difficult to say what’s harder – getting in the elite or remaining a CT surfer.

The end of October marks an important phase in the qualifying process because all it’s left for the Qualifying Series (QS) competitors are the Hawaiian stages – Hawaiian Pro, and Vans World Cup – and a couple of events in Brazil and Taiwan – Hang Loose Pro Contest and the Taiwan Open of Surfing.
